Eric is a senior at Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, NY. This will also be his second year at the Juilliard Pre-College program where he studies composition with Eric Ewazen. His compositions were selected for the NYSSMA Young Composers Honors Concert in 2009 and 2010, and have been performed by the Juilliard Pre-College Percussion Ensemble and Empire State Youth Percussion Ensemble. He has also been a part of the New York Youth Symphony’s Making Score Program in 2008-2009, and the Boston University at Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artist Composition Program for the past two summers. He began playing piano and violin at the age of five. In elementary school he took up double bass and horn, and in middle school he continued with these instruments while developing a very strong interest for percussion. He has been a member of the Juilliard Pre-College Concert Orchestra, New York Youth Symphony and Empire State Youth Orchestra as a percussionist. He also performs in various school jazz groups and in an electronic/rock duo on drumset.
